Frequently Asked Questions!!!

What type of dresses do you hire?

We hire evening dresses, cocktail dresses, ball gowns, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses and wedding gowns.  Our range of gowns is suitable for black tie, formal, semi formal and cocktail dress codes.

How much does it cost?

We believe that the option of hiring a gown is a more cost effective alternative to buying a dress that you may never wear again.  Our prices range from $150 to $500 with the average hire price being $265.  In the event that alterations are required such as hems etc, additional charges apply however, we do try to keep these to an absolute minimum.  On the pick up of your gown there is a $100 security bond payable.  Rather than actually paying this we take the bond as a manual credit card swipe which is attached to your contract.  Once the gown has been dry cleaned we destroy the card swipe.

What does the hire fee include?

The hire fee includes dry cleaning and  a  weekend hire period of 3-4 days depending on when the dress is required.  We are more than happy to discuss extended hires.

How does the security bond system work?

To improve the quality of service, we take a credit card imprint for $100. This is only debited to your account if the dress is returned late, damaged or is stolen. When the dress is returned we will check the dress thoroughly in your presence and indicate if there is any damaged.  Once the dress has been sent to our dry cleaners and returned the credit card swipe is cancelled and destroyed.

What happens if the dress is damaged?

The $100 deposit covers against any damage that may deem the dress unwearable.   On the return of the dress we will thoroughly check the dress and alert you to any problems in regards to damage and advise, at this stage, whether or not the bond will be retained by us.

What happens if someone else damages the dress that I am supposed to hire out?

The dresses in the collection are hired out usually for a maximum of 4 hires.  There is a cooling gap of 2-4 weeks between each hire to prevent any problems with dress damage which may render the gown unwearable, which allows us to replace the dress in good time.  We will also contact you to let you know if we have ordered a replacement to allow you time to either retry or swap dresses.

How do I know whether dress hire is an option for me or not?

The only way to find out is to contact us to book a no obligation appointment and see for yourself the stunning dresses available.

How can I ensure that no one else hires the dress I want?

The only way to guarentee the dress you want, is to book it!  This can be done by paying dress hire fee on the day of booking,

I have an idea of the perfect dress  I want but it isn't on your website, can you help?

Yes we can! If you have seen your dream dress and it is not displayed on our website or at our showroom, then come along and have a chat with us. At Dream Dress we go the extra mile to ensure you leave with the dress you want. To ensure we can offer you the best service, you should book an appointment 4-6 weeks before the event.

What happens if I order a dress in and don't like it when it arrives?

You can redeem the fee against any other dress in the collection.
